High-Conflict Mediation

It is often assumed that “High Conflict Mediation” , particularly in marriage dissolution,  refers to deep, divisive and difficult issues. To the contrary, high conflict mediation actually involves high conflict people.

Cost is $125.00 an hour per party. It may involve one high conflict person (hcp) or two or several parties to the issue. But it does require a new and different way of thinking by the mediator.

I have been trained in high conflict mediation.  The mediation process with hcp varies substantially from the more common mediation with non high conflict parties. This training focuses on the present (not the past), on tasks (to keep parties away from emotions) and trading proposals.
